Turning industry experience into a system: a SaaS quoting platform built for construction and home improvement

A Product Built on Industry Knowledge

LinkUp's founder has worked in Canada's construction and home improvement industry for more than 17 years. For him, the hard part of building LinkUp was not making a quoting system, but turning years of accumulated industry knowledge and experience into a structured system that can be used continuously and keep growing.

5xRuby started by understanding the founder's vision, worked with him to map out the relationships between work items, materials, construction methods, and pricing, and then proposed the right technical approach. Our PM handled project management and communication, while the engineering team took the time to understand the construction industry. Whenever problems came up or changes were needed, both sides discussed them and kept improving together, completing LinkUp's MVP.

Core Strengths

Structured professional quoting: Work items, specifications, and options are organized as structured data, and a powerful pricing engine handles different materials and construction methods, so contractors can produce quotes quickly with a reference budget range.

Project showcase pages: Contractors can turn completed jobs into project pages that show the scope of work, key specifications, and before-and-after comparisons, turning real projects into future opportunities.

Inquiries sent straight to contractors: Homeowners can send a request directly from a project page, and it goes straight to the contractor.

Faster service workflow: Receiving inquiries, measuring and quoting, customer sign-off, job records, and project showcases are brought together on one platform, cutting the time contractors spend on paperwork and admin.

What Our Client Says

I have worked in Canada's construction and home improvement industry for more than 17 years. The real challenge in building LinkUp was not making a quoting system, but turning years of accumulated industry knowledge and experience into a structured system that can be used continuously and keep growing. The 5xRuby team understood my ideas and proposed the right technical approach. The PM's project management and communication were very clear, and the engineering team was willing to dig deep into our industry's needs. Whenever problems came up or changes were needed, everyone was willing to discuss and improve together. The MVP is only the first step for LinkUp. I'm very grateful to 5xRuby for helping us truly start bringing this idea to life, and I learned a lot along the way.
