5xRuby's SOSI Named a Finalist for Ruby biz Grand prix 2026

Taipei, October 19, 2026 — SOSI, the remote access control platform developed in-house by 5xRuby, has been named a finalist for Japan’s Ruby biz Grand prix 2026. This year’s competition drew 19 entries, from which the judging committee selected seven finalists. SOSI is the only finalist this year from outside Japan.

About Ruby biz Grand prix

Organized by the Ruby biz Grand prix Executive Committee and Shimane Prefecture, Ruby biz Grand prix recognizes companies that use the strengths of Ruby to create new services and keep growing them as businesses. This is its 12th year. The judging committee is chaired by Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto, the creator of Ruby, and past grand prize winners include well-known Japanese companies such as Cookpad, GMO Pepabo, pixiv and Timee.

About SOSI

SOSI is a remote access control platform that combines VDI (virtual desktop access) and PAM (privileged access management) in one system. It runs entirely in the browser with nothing to install and supports RDP, SSH, VNC, Telnet and SFTP. Role-based access control, approval workflows, two-factor authentication, LDAP integration, full screen and command recording, and audit reports let companies manage remote access in a fully traceable way. SOSI is built with Ruby on Rails, with everything from the management features to the connection path written in Ruby, and draws on 5xRuby’s years of Ruby expertise.

Award Ceremony

The award ceremony will be held at 17:00 on Thursday, December 3, 2026, in the Small Hall of Kunibiki Messe in Matsue, Shimane, on the first day of RubyWorld Conference 2026 (December 3–4) at the same venue. The grand prize winners will be announced at the ceremony, which will also be streamed online.
